Steps Towards Change

If you recognize a negative pattern in your life and emotions, it is definitely time for a change. But how to do it? It may seem too complicated and you may not know where to start, which can make you feel miserable all over again. Do not let this happen. Even a slightest change in your habits, no matter how irrelevant it may seem, is a step to better life.

Define the negative emotions first and learn what triggers them. Keep a journal of events and situations that make you feel bad or stressed. In the future, try avoiding these situations or find a different way of handling them. Learn to say “no” when you need to, and stand up for yourself.

Reconnect with those close to you. Do not be afraid to talk and share your feelings and concerns. After all, they say that’s what friends are for. Your close ones will be there for you, hear you out and try to help you. Get back to the activities with your friends you enjoy doing together, and it will certainly bring the lust for life back to you.

Start paying attention to little things in life and let them make your day happier. In bad phases of life we tend to lose sight of the small things that really enrich everyday life. The smell of freshly cut grass, the rays of winter sun on your face, the taste of your favorite cake – sharpen your senses and let them enjoy again in all the “small”, yet so big things.
